Installing and Configuring VMware IT Business Management Suite Standard Edition - Part 18



1. Integrate IT Business Management Server with vCloud Automation Center
You log in to the VMware® IT Business Management Suite™ Standard Edition server and register
it with VMware vCloud® Automation Center™. You then log in to vCloud Automation Center and
create a tenant and associate users and groups to manage the IT Business Management server.
In the browser address window, go to
https://itbmFQDN:5480.
Username = root
Password = as assigned
On the vCloud Automation Center tab, type the following information:
• Host name: vcacFQDN
• SSO Default Tenant: vsphere.local
• SSO Admin User: administrator
• SSO Admin Password: as assigned
Click Register. An error message reports that the registration failed.
7. Select the Accept “vCloud Automation Center” certificate check box.
8. Click Register.
After a couple of minutes, a “Registered with vCloud Automation Center” message appears.
9. Click the System tab.
10. Click Time Zone.
11. From the System Time Zone drop-down menu, select America/Los_Angeles.
12. Click Save Settings.
13. Click Logout user root.

Click the green plus sign next to Tenants. > In the Name text box, type ITBM01  > In the URL Name text box, type itbm01 > Click the Submit and Next button > Click the green plus icon next to Identity stores. > From the Type drop-down menu, select Active Directory. > Type the following information:
• Name: vClass
•URL: ldap://vclass.local:389
• Domain: vclass.local
• Domain alias: vclass
• Login user DN: cn=administrator,cn=users,dc=vclass,dc=local
• Password: as assigned
• Group Search base DN: cn=users,dc=vclass,dc=local
• User search base DN: cn=users,dc=vclass,dc=local
Click Test Connection. A “Connection is available” message appears. > Click Add. > Verify that vClass identity store appears in the Identity Stores pane. > Click Next. > Click in Select Users and Groups from your identity store text box to grant the Tenant administrator role and type itbm. The text box populates. > Click ITBM-Administrators > Click in Select Users and Groups from your identity store text box to grant the infrastructure administrator role and type itbm. The text box populates.  > Click ITBM-Administrators. > Click Add. Verify that the ITBM tenant appears under tenants. > Click Logout.

Click Administration. > Click Users. > In the Search box on the right side of the window, type itbm and click the search icon. > In the Actions column, click the icon next to itbm-admin@vclass.local and select Edit. > In Add roles to this User, select the Business Management Administrator check box. > Click Update. > In the Actions column, click the icon next to itbm-user01@vclass.local and select Edit. > In Add roles to this User, select the Business Management Read only User check box. > Click Update.

Click the Business Management tab. > Type the serial number provided > Click Save.The Business Management main page appears.

2. Add a vCenter Server Instance
You add a VMware® vCenter Server™ instance to vCloud Automation Center to collect performance data to provide accurate cost information for reports.
Click the Administration tab. > On the lower-left side of the window in the menu bar, click the Business Management button, not the Business Management tab at the top. > Click the white plus sign next to vCenter Server Connections.
Type the following information:
• vCenter Server: vcva.vclass.local
•User name: vs-admin@vclass.local
• Password:  as assigned
Click Save > Click Install. > Click OK. > Click Refresh to update the browser page. > Click the Business Management tab at the top of window to view the updated information.
